The meaning of mid autumn festival is very different for me this year other than family gathering. Because this year, I started teaching Snowskin mooncakes and Cheese Shanghai mooncakes baking/making. Demand was overwhelming, even the weekdays mooncake baking classes were well taken up.
In addition, I was also mentioned in The Strait Times in Mind Your Body (12 Sept 2013) in their healthy mooncake article; though it was..as I put it - a small mention. Heehee... how exciting to be published in the papers! : )
Best of all, I received a testimonial from one student who attended the mooncake class. This really really make my day! ; )
"Thank you Shinni, for teaching us such a healthy and tasty versions of mooncakes.
We put the mooncakes in the freezer after class so we didn't try them until 2 days later. The snowskin thawed out very well and taste very soft. The sweetness is about right. We also reheat the yam ones in oven and tasted very good. Thank you v much for a v enjoyable afternoon - we learnt lots of neat tricks. And the family was impressed w the presentation." - Christina
